Nov 23-29: Joke’s on me
The last lessons leading up to the road exam were a great morale boost.
Nov 13 & 16: Find the flow
The lessons felt gooooood this week.
The first one was a very observing ride where the instructor just gave me directions and didn’t correct me much otherwise, to analyze the on-road behavior afterwards. He helped me to figure out some planning problems which hampered my flow in traffic.
Today I could test that and it was delightful. Much better. I did get a liiiiiittle enthusiastic in a corner exiting the highway, but it was a good reminder on how to regulate that — we revisited the exit a bit later and it was fine then.
Good pacing, the looking behavior was good, and I definitely couldn’t suppress a number of smiles in the helmet. Everything I could possibly wish for today.
Thirteen days to go until the exam! 🤩
Oct 28: Chicken soup for the soul
On Friday, October 25th I got a call from a very distraught family member. They told me they had found my mom at home, lifeless.
As you might be able to imagine, it was like the ground disappeared from underneath my feet.
Sep 21-25: Don’t take it slow, do use your eyes
But then, the next day, things were looking up:
Three days later I hopped back on the beloved SV650, and the good vibes continued!
The progress we’re making feels good… I think we’re doing the right things to get ready for October 21st. 🥰
